Tired of talking about COVID19 yet? Miss the days of talking about Greta and the woes of the petroleum business? No, I’m not suggesting that you bring those up in your Easter family conversation (on Skype or Zoom with your extended families) 😉
Here is something fun to discuss: the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. (Maybe a good topic for your “new” home-schooling class”!
I’m sure that you are practicing these things in your household.
In the geophysical world we practice the 3R’s too. A real-world example – for your home-school student.
Trading, swapping and ‘buying’ seismic is a regular activity in our industry today. The benefits of buying existing seismic have traditionally been valued in terms of cost and time savings. But what about the environmental benefits? No new cutlines, ZERO carbon footprint, no safety issues. Sounds like the 3 R’s (reduce, reuse and recycle) to me.
As you are enjoying a cyber Easter conversation with extended family and friends or home schooling your kids over the coming weeks – remind yourself of this one example of our environmental stewardship, while moving forward to solve our subsurface puzzles.
Have a Happy Easter this weekend!
