It is with heavy hearts that we inform you about the passing of Cecil Keeping on July 23rd, 2025.
Cecil retired in 2015 after a long career in the energy industry in Calgary, having worked for companies including Amoco, Dome, Mesa, Unocal and Sigma Explorations where he was President from 1998-2014.

Cecil shared his passion for geophysics with his family, often punctuating their many mountain hikes with impromptu lectures about the rocks and landscapes in their midst. Following his retirement in 2015 Cecil spent more time with his family and travelling.

He will be deeply missed.
